Koderma: Thieves decamped with jewellery worth around Rs 50 lakh from Shivam Jewellers located at at Jhanda Chowk under the Tilaiya police station limits. The theft came to light on Saturday morning when shop owner Ashok Kumar Bhadani returned from Jamshedpur to find his establishment ransacked.Bhadani said, “The shop was closed since Tuesday. The miscreants broke into an adjacent abandoned shop and reached the showroom by creating a tunnel. Nearly the entire inventory was cleared out.

Koderma SP Anudeep Singh said, “A special investigation team led by SDPO Anil Kumar Singh has been set up to solve the case. Raids are under way at suspected hideouts. The owner did not install any CCTV camera inside the shop. Police are scanning footage of CCTVs installed in the neighbourhood to identify and arrest the burglars.”
